GAZA: The Israeli military has issued an urgent call to Palestinians living in specific areas of the Gaza Strip, urging them to evacuate their homes and seek shelter due to safety concerns amidst escalating hostilities.
Military spokesman Avichay Adraee conveyed the message, stating that “Hamas’ attacks are compelling the Israeli army to take action in Gaza. For your safety, immediately evacuate the areas where you live.” Adraee specified the areas that require evacuation.
Residents residing in various locations, including El-Mekusi, Beit Hanoun, Shuja’iyya, El-Bireyc, El-Maghazi, Big Abasan, Small Abasan, and Rafah, were directed to find shelter in designated locations.
Additionally, Adraee announced that the area under the control of the Gaza Division has been declared a closed military zone, and he strongly urged residents not to enter the area under any circumstances.
This decision comes in the wake of a surprise attack by Hamas that occurred early on Saturday. The attack involved dozens of fighters infiltrating Israeli towns near the enclave amid a barrage of rocket fire.
The Israeli Health Ministry reported that at least 300 Israelis lost their lives, with over 1,500 individuals injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, more than 250 Palestinians were killed, and over 1,700 were injured due to Israeli airstrikes, according to the Health Ministry.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to utilize all of Israel’s strength to dismantle Hamas’ capabilities and “take revenge for this black day.”
