JERUSALEM, Israel: Israel has regained control of the Gaza border fence breached by Palestinian Hamas gunmen who carried out a weekend mass incursion, and is planting mines in the parts where the barrier was toppled, the chief military spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Speaking on Israel’s Army Radio, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari reported that no fresh infiltrations from Gaza had occurred since Monday. Responding to speculations about the use of cross-border tunnels by militants, he clarified that the military had not discovered any evidence supporting such claims.
