GAZA: Israeli forces conducted aggressive raids on Palestinian refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, inflicting damage to essential infrastructure and cutting off electricity, eyewitnesses reported. In a series of pre-dawn raids, Israeli soldiers targeted the Al Fara refugee camp in Tubas, northern West Bank, disrupting sewage and water systems, and cutting off electricity supply.
According to Assem Mansour, head of the Popular Committee in Al Fara, the Israeli army launched a large-scale operation, raiding Palestinians’ homes and causing extensive property damage in the camp. “The Israeli army began a large-scale operation at midnight, raiding homes and damaging property in the camp,” Assem Mansour told Anadolu news agency.
Mansour lamented the destruction of critical infrastructure, including sewage, electricity, and water networks, leaving residents without vital utilities since early Monday morning.
Israeli forces arrested at least 30 Palestinians in fresh military operations across the occupied West Bank. Prisoners’ affairs groups reported that most arrests occurred in Bethlehem, with additional detentions in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, Salfit, and Tubas. The latest arrests bring the total number of Palestinians detained by Israeli forces since October 7, 2023, to 9,155, according to Palestinian figures.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis deepened as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported extensive destruction caused by Israeli attacks since October 7. More than half of the buildings in Gaza have been razed, according to data from the United Nations Satellite Center (UNOSAT). The agency described the devastation as “indescribable,” emphasizing the arduous task of rebuilding and the prolonged psychological trauma inflicted on the population.
The UNRWA reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, stressing the urgent need to end the suffering of civilians caught in the Israeli violence.
In a statement on Monday, the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza said at least 37,124 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, and 84,712 have been injured in Israel’s military offensive on Gaza since October 7.
Emergency teams in Gaza worked tirelessly to retrieve bodies following a recent incursion by the Israeli army into the eastern regions of Deir al Balah. Despite the military’s withdrawal, Palestinians attempting to return to their homes faced targeted attacks, resulting in multiple casualties. The Israeli military also demolished several homes and razed several residential and agricultural zones.
