GAZA: Israeli armed forces on Wednesday killed two Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, said the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The attack comes a day after Israel pounded the Gaza Strip with missiles that killed 15 citizens in separate attacks over many hours.

According to Al Jazeera, the Ministry of Health identified the slain men as Ahmad Jamal Assaf and Warani Walid Qatanat, who Israeli soldiers shot in Qabatiya Town in south of Jenin, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Wednesday.

Witnesses reported that the massive force of Israeli soldiers “raided the town and broke into several homes in the western neighbourhood, searched them and ransacked them”, WAFA reported.

The news agency said, “During the assault, soldiers opened fire at a car, killing two and wounding a third.”

Social media users in the town also said that Israeli forces raided homes and stopped vehiles on the streets.

In a statement, the Israeli military said the deceased had fired on soldiers from a vehicle and was killed by the retaliatory fire. One M-16 assault rifle and a handgun were found at the scene, it said.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in an Israeli air attack on a vehicle in the southern Gaza Strip.
