WEST BANK, Palestine Occupied Territories: Israeli forces killed two Palestinian youths in a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Friday.
The Palestinian officials said that the attack was carried out early Friday morning that resulted in the deaths of Khairi Shaheen and Hamza Maqbool, Al Jazeera reported.
Israeli army was searching for the two persons, one confirmed to be linked with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.
The security forces tracked down the men to a house in old Nablus, and used loudspeakers to ask them to surrender themselves. There was some sort of confrontation reportedly between the two Palestinians in the house and the Israeli military, which shot them dead.
According to Israeli army, they were suspected of carrying out a shooting attack against police this week.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCC) said in a statement that it transferred the bodies of the martyrs from the Old City of Nablus.
Israeli military cordoned off the house before shooting the men. Three other Palestinians were also wounded in the incident.
Israel’s raid on Jenin refugee camp
The unfortunate incident came less than two days after an Israeli military raid in the Jenin refugee camp that killed twelve Palestinians and injured 140 others, thirty of them seriously.
The raid, which forced thousands of Palestinians to flee the bady destroyed camp, was the largest Israeli offensive in the West Bank in more than twenty years.
Israel has been carrying out near-daily attacks, raids and killings of Palestinians in the West Bank since June 2021 in a bid to crack down on an intensifying armed resistance.
