WEST BANK: The Palestinian health ministry has said three Palestinians had been killed in a raid by Israeli armed forces on the Balata refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
The incident occurred on Monday after Israeli forces blockd the camp’s entrances with bulldozers, preventing ambulances and journalists from getting inside, residents told Al Jazeera.
They said the raid was one of the most extensive operations in years.
The Palestinian health ministry identified the three person killed as Fathi Abu Rizk (30), Muhammad Abu Zaytoun (32), and Abdullah Abu Hamdan (24).
There was no confirmation of the fatalities by the Israeli army.
Israeli armed force has conducted a series of incursions in the occupied West Bank, and earlier this month, raided Balata, where it killed two Palestinians.
On that occasion, the Fatah movement of Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas said the two-person killed were members of its armed force wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
Monday’s raid occurred after a car-ramming attack near Nablus on Sunday in which an Israeli soldier was injured.
