RAMALLAH: Israeli forces shot and killed six Palestinian civilians on Friday during a raid on a refugee camp in the northern part of the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the Palestinian health ministry reported. The incident occurred in the Al-Fara refugee camp near Tubas, with the ministry attributing the deaths to gunfire from the Israeli occupation forces.

The Israeli army has yet to respond to requests for comment on the incident. Reports indicate that violence intensified as Israeli forces entered the camp and resorted to heavy gunfire and explosions, exacerbating an already tense situation in the West Bank.

Tensions have been heightened in the region since the outbreak of the conflict. Earlier this week, the Palestinian health ministry reported four deaths, including two teenagers, in multiple Israeli operations across the West Bank.

Israeli Forces and Settlers’ Brutalities in West Bank

The Palestinian Authority asserts that Israeli fire and settler attacks in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of at least 263 Palestinians since the beginning of the Israeli violence in Gaza. This surpasses the total death toll of 235 Palestinians recorded in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict throughout the previous year.

Last month, 14 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid in the city of Jenin, marking the highest death toll from a single raid in the West Bank since 2005, according to United Nations records.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported a concerning shift in injuries sustained by Palestinian gunshot victims in the occupied West Bank, with more injuries occurring in the head and torso rather than limbs, according to the international president of MSF, Christos Christou.

Christou expressed his concerns about the shift in trauma, stating that such changes would likely result in a higher number of fatalities.
