RAMALLAH: The Palestinian health ministry announced that Israeli forces raided the occupied West Bank and killed a Palestinian teenager on Monday, whereas the army claimed soldiers opened fire at “armed suspects”.
According to the ministry, 17-year-old Jibril Mohammed Kamal al-Ladaa was “shot in the head” at the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp outside of Jericho City,
Palestinian health officials said six others were wounded, including three in serious condition. Israel’s military claimed, “Armed suspects fired at the soldiers, who responded with live fire”. The army said no soldiers were wounded in the incursion, while Israeli forces detained three people.
With the most recent tragic raid, there have now been 101 Palestinian deaths in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict this year. According to an AFP figure based on official sources from the two sides, 19 Israelis, one Ukrainian, and one Italian were killed in the same period.
These numbers include civilians and combatants, whereas three Arab minority members from Israel are included.
