RAMALLAH: Eight Palestinians were killed and at least 14 others wounded by Israeli forces during a raid on Jenin city and refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, said Palestinian health ministry on Thursday.
Israel’s military has also carried out counter-terrorism raids in Jenin, but gave no further details.
Israeli forces have killed at least 173 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of the deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7.
The occupied forces have also apprehended more than 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank in that time.
According to the Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip, Israel’s bombardment has killed over 10,500 people, most of them women and children. The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is about 1,600, according to official figures.
At least 2,500 others, more than half of them minors, have been reported missing and are most likely trapped under the rubble.
Meanwhile United Nations has said that hospitals in Gaza Strip, besieged and isolated by the Israeli military operations are at breaking point as thousands of Palestinians facing unprecedented hardships.
Reports show that up to one-third of buildings in northern Gaza have been either destroyed or damaged.
