DAMASCUS: In a drone strike carried out by Israel, four pro-Hezbollah fighters were killed on Friday in Madinat al-Baath town in the province of Quneitra, near the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, according to a report from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The fighters were reportedly operating on behalf of Hezbollah. The strike came a day after Israel targeted sites near Damascus with eight missiles, responding to the bombardment of the Israeli-annexed Golan.
This incident follows a pattern of Israeli air strikes in Syria, with hundreds of such strikes taking place since 2011, targeting Syrian army positions and Hezbollah installations.
