NEW YORK: UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has said that based on an assessment, that she believes the Israeli army “intentionally killed” the seven aid workers in the Gaza Strip to scare donors of humanitarian assistance and ensure the continued famine of Palestinian people.
Albanese, the UN’s Ambassador on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, stated that having knowledge of the Israeli army’s operating procedures, the killings were conducted deliberately so that donors would pull out and civilian population in the Gaza Strip would continue to be famished silently.
In a statement via social media, she said that Israel knows Western countries would not move a finger for Palestinian people. She said that Israel is crossing every red line, still will full exemption. She said, “Sanctions now. Indictments now.”

Earlier, the US, Britain, France and Australia criticized Israel for deadly strike in the Gaza Strip that killed seven charity workers. World Central Kitchen, one of the NGOs leading efforts to provide aid by boat, confirmed that the attack conducted by Israel, resulted in the deaths of staff from Britain, Australia, Poland, Palestine, and the US-Canada.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also called for a “swift, impartial probe” into the strike, highlighting the need for Israel to enhance safety for innocent Palestinians.
French Minister for Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne echoed Blinken’s sentiments, emphasizing the moral and lawful imperative to safeguard aid workers.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron asked Israel to carry out an immediate probe and provide a comprehensive explanation of the deadly attack.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the “completely unacceptable” strike and extended sincere condolences to the family of Australian worker who lost her life in the Israeli airstrike.
EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez condemned the attack on aid workers.
