RAMALLAH: Israeli troops have killed three Palestinians in Jenin city in the occupied West Bank, Arab media reported on Tuesday.

According to Arab media, the Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces after the “storming” of hospital in Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin by Israeli troops.  Violent clashes have also been reported in the city surrounding the hospital.

Amnesty International has alleged several governments of acting inhumanely by withholding funds for the UNRWA.  In a statement the Amnesty called on nations to reverse their decision that would cause “further suffering to two million Palestinians, who are already facing the risk of genocide and an engineered scarcity”.

The rights group stated that Norway, Ireland, Belgium and Spain are among nations that have announced they would not suspend funding, recognizing the major role that UNRWA continues to play in the distribution of humanitarian help to those in desperate need.

Amnesty’s Secretary-General Agnes Callamard stated it was “disgraceful” that Canada, the UK, the US, Australia, Germany, and France had cut help to UNRWA.

Amnesty further said that Israel and right-wing groups have for years led a smear drive against UNRWA, which plays a major role in protecting Palestinians’ right of return to their lands.
