WEST BANK, Palestine: At least nine Palestinians, including an elderly woman, were killed in an Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said on Thursday.

Health minister of Palestine warned that the situation was “critical” in Jenin saying many other people were injured and ambulances were unable to approach them. Children ward of a local hospital was hit by Israeli tear gas, she said.
Israeli military released few details on the issue, but Israeli media said it had acted to foil “a major attack” by ‘militants’. Tensions have recently risen in the West Bank area as the Israeli military continues its offensive. As many as 29 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank so far in 2023. In 2022, more than 150 Palestinians were killed, nearly all by Israeli forces.
