JABALIA, Gaza: The Israeli army intensified its offensive on Saturday in Jabalia, a region in the northern Gaza Strip, asking residents to evacuate their homes and seek shelter in western Gaza City.

Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced on social media platform X that the army had eliminated “a sabotage cell in Jabalia following clashes with its members inside buildings. The saboteurs shot at the armed personnel after running to the roof.”

Adraee reported that the troops surrounded the buildings and neutralized the group after an exchange of fire, noting that the army did not incur any losses during the clashes. He did not provide further details about the identity of the “saboteurs.”

Earlier in the day, Palestinian medical sources reported that at least 28 people, including women and children, were killed in ongoing Israeli air raids on the Jabalia refugee camp.

Xinhua was informed by Palestinian security sources that Israeli airplanes fired missiles at a camp shelter center and multiple residential houses. The camp has been under military occupation for a few days when the raids resulted in large explosions.

With a promise to retaliate, the Israeli army has accused Hamas of “trying to rebuild its capabilities” in northern Gaza.
