Israeli Airstrikes Target Women, Children in Gaza: Health Ministry

GAZA: The Palestinian Health Ministry said Wednesday that women and children in Gaza are suffering about 60 percent of the injuries during the Israeli bombardment in the region.

Yusuf Abu al Reesh, deputy minister for health in Gaza said that 60 percent of the wounds caused by Israeli airstrikes in the area have mostly impacted children and women.

To a question, he said that all hospital beds have been filled, and both medications and medical supplies are on the edge of running out.

Over these past few days, the Gaza Strip has witnessed a devastating and relentless barrage of Israeli airstrikes and ground operations, resulting in a substantial loss of life and extensive destruction throughout residential areas.

As per media reports, more than 2,200 have been killed from both sides during the recent escalation between Israel and Palestine.

Waleed Siam, the envoy of Palestine in Japan, sought sympathy for the people of Gaza in a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday and alleged the Western countries of hypocrisy and using a “narrow lens” to view the current situation in the Middle East.
