BEIRUT: Israeli fighter jets launched an airstrike on Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military said via a social media post on X.
On Tuesday, a video was released displaying a succession of missiles targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, which Israel asserted consisted of weapon caches, military posts, and sites located in Lebanon. These airstrikes followed Hezbollah’s admission of responsibility for a series of attacks against the Israeli military on the preceding Monday.
Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, emphasized his commitment to preventing his country from being drawn into a full-scale conflict on Monday. Despite this, the Lebanese government has limited influence over Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran, making it challenging to exert control over the situation.
