TEL AVIV: The Israeli military said on Sunday that it has conducted airstrikes on several Houthi targets in Yemen, including power stations and a strategic seaport in the Hodeida region, using dozens of aircraft.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched the strikes in response to recent missile threats from Houthis, who claimed to have targeted Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport with a missile the previous day.
Military spokesman Captain David Avraham confirmed the extensive operation, stating, “In a large-scale air operation today, dozens of Air Force aircraft, including fighter jets, refuelling planes, and reconnaissance aircraft, attacked military-use targets of the Houthi regime in the Ras Issa and Hodeida areas of Yemen.”
According to the IDF, the sites struck were critical for the Houthis. The targeted locations were reportedly used for transferring weaponry and supplies to support military operations against Israel and its allies.

“The IDF (military) targeted power stations and a seaport used for oil imports,” a military statement said.
The Israeli military had previously targeted Hodeida in July, causing significant damage estimated at over $20 million, following a Houthi drone strike that penetrated Israel’s air defences.
Local reports from the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah station confirmed the Israeli strikes, stating that multiple sites, including the ports of Hodeida and Ras Issa, along with two power stations, were hit. The Houthis condemned the attacks, framing them as “Israeli aggression” against Yemen.
