BEIRUT: Israel’s army early Monday bombed a position belonging to a group in the southern part of Syria near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, the second such bombing in days, Arab media reported.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “Israeli forces” bombarded a position on the outskirts of Southern Syria where fighters from the Syrian Resistance to Liberate the Golan Heights are located.
Israel Bombs position in Syria: Arab media
Syria’s state-run media did not report the recent bombardment, but two local media channels close to the government reported an “Israeli aggression” that struct the outskirts of Quneitra.
The Israeli forces had bombed locations in the Quneitra on April 18, the Observatory added, targeting positions where groups are present, also without reporting any death casualties.
Earlier, amid escalating violence in the area, Israel launched airstrikes on Syria following several rockets were fired from the locations and landed in Golan Heights.
The 1,200 square km region — patrolled by Israeli forces and bordering Lebanon — was held from Syria in the 1967 war.
