GAZA: Israel has assassinated two more Palestinian journalists in besieged Gaza strip, taking the death toll to 89 since October 7, Gaza’s media said on Wednesday.

The office accused Israel of deliberately killing journalists in attempt to obstruct truth.

A statement by the media office on Wednesday said Ahmed Abu Absa and Hanan Ayyad have been killed in Israeli bombardment.

The statement, however, did not elaborate any details about the circumstances of the death of the two journalists.

According to witnesses, Ayyad’s husband and her two children have also been killed in the Israeli strikes in Gaza city.

Israel has bombarded Gaza from the air and land and started a ground offensive following a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7.

According to health authorities in Gaza at least 18,608 Palestinians have been killed and 50,594 wounded in the Israeli strikes since then.

The Israeli raids have almost destroyed entire neighborhoods in northern Gaza. Israeli ground troops have been facing heavy resistance from Hamas fighters in the area.

According to the UN some 1.87 million Palestinians, over 80 percent of Gaza’s population, have left their homes.
