RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has conducted an “Emergency and Disaster Management” programme, which was attended by 23 trainees from 10 member states.
The programme was held in cooperation with the Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Civil Defence Institute in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.
The initiative forms part of the coalition’s capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing professional readiness to manage risks and emergencies.
It focuses on strengthening the efficiency of specialised personnel by equipping participants with the scientific and technical knowledge required to handle emergency and disaster situations, particularly those involving hazardous materials.
The training is designed to improve both the speed and effectiveness of incident response under exceptional circumstances.
The coalition emphasised that delivering the programme in collaboration with relevant authorities demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting member states through specialised, high-quality training.
Such initiatives enhance integration, coordination, and institutional preparedness, in line with international standards and best professional practices for emergency management.
