ISLAMABAD: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states will convene in Saudi Arabia on March 7 for an emergency meeting to discuss joint actions in response to the deteriorating conditions in Palestine due to ongoing Israeli aggression.
The Pakistan Foreign Office in a press release on Tuesday said that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will attend the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) on March 7, 2025, in Jeddah.
“This high-level meeting will bring together Foreign Ministers and senior officials from OIC member countries to discuss joint actions in response to the deteriorating conditions in Palestine due to ongoing Israeli aggression, violations of Palestinian rights, and calls for their displacement,” the statement said.
The foreign office said as a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause, Pakistan has consistently highlighted this issue on various international platforms.
It said at the upcoming OIC-CFM session, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and emphasise its principled position.
“He will advocate for the full withdrawal of Israel from all occupied territories, including Jerusalem, denounce the unacceptable proposal for further displacing Palestinians, and call for the restoration of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, such as their right to return to their homeland and the establishment of a viable, contiguous, and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital,” said the statement.

It said that on the sidelines of the OIC-CFM, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from important OIC member states.
It is pertinent to mention that Arab leaders are gathering in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss a plan from US President Donald Trump to assume control of war-hit Gaza and displace its Palestinian population.
The Arab League summit on the region’s reconstruction took place just one day after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reiterated his support for Trump’s plan, describing it as “visionary and innovative.”
Palestinians, along with the Arab world and many of Israel and the United States’ allies, have condemned Trump’s proposal, firmly rejecting any attempts to expel Gazans.
