Pakistan Monument explains Islamabad’s historical significance
At the very monument, various boards explain the very specific historical significance of the location, that Islamabad, was a planned city, where it contained only a few villages and two popular shrines of Bari Imam Sarkar and Golra Shareef.

In 1959 and 1960, initial approvals of Islamabad were granted. The dates are also written on the brief history boards at the monument. Spread out over 9.6 square kilometers of land, its plateau is 500-600 meters above sea level, while the highest hill is at 1,600 meters in elevation.
