ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has welcomed diplomatic engagement and talks towards the achievement of peace in Yemen with particular reference to the Saudi Arabia’s role and endeavors in reinforcing the efforts of Oman and the UN Special Ambassador for Yemen, local media reported on Monday.

In a statement, Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson said, “The kingdom’s efforts towards a cordial resolution of the Yemen issue, we believe, are very timely and would promote stability, peace and development in the region.”

“Islamabad reiterates its principled support for a political settlement to the crisis in Yemen through talks and consultation,” she further said.
