ISLAMABAD: Islamabad United won the toss and chose to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi in a highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 encounter at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.

This is one of the most competitive rivalries in PSL history, with both teams having won 9 matches each in their 18 head-to-head encounters.

Islamabad United comes into this match with strong momentum. They recently defeated Lahore Qalandars in a confident performance.

Jason Holder impressed with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 26 runs, while captain Shadab Khan added 3 for 25, according to Cricket Pakistan.

Their batting also looked solid, as Colin Munro scored 59 runs off 42 balls and Salman Ali Agha added 41 off 34 deliveries to chase down the target comfortably.

On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi is looking to bounce back after a disappointing 80-run defeat to Quetta Gladiators.

Their batting line-up collapsed in that game, with five players, including skipper Babar Azam, getting out without scoring. Zalmi will need a much stronger showing to challenge Islamabad.

Both franchises have a rich PSL history. Islamabad United has won the league three times, the most by any team, while Peshawar Zalmi lifted the trophy once.

Islamabad United appears to have the upper hand in this contest. However, Peshawar Zalmi has the talent and firepower to turn the tables, making this an exciting match for fans.
