ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s capital is set to host a high-profile International Industrial Expo this October at Shakarparian Ground. The event will feature leading companies from Pakistan and abroad, serving as a platform for global business networking, trade partnerships, and investment opportunities.

The announcement came during a high-level meeting chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at the CDA Headquarters on Friday, according to the state-run channel, PTV World.

Officials confirmed that the expo will include participation from prominent Pakistani brands as well as international companies from China, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and several other countries.

Primary aim

The primary aim of the event is to enhance international trade by offering foreign participants the chance to introduce their products and services to the Pakistani market. Business chambers from across the country will also take part, setting up stalls and engaging in networking sessions to explore collaboration and export opportunities.

Organisers anticipate the expo will facilitate the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between local and international companies, opening avenues for increased exports and foreign exchange inflows.

The initiative is closely aligned with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s vision to position Islamabad as a hub for business, tourism, and international engagement.

Boosting trade

“This International Expo is part of our efforts to boost trade, attract investment, and promote Pakistan’s image globally,” said Randhawa. He added that the CDA will collaborate with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, relevant ministries, and foreign missions to ensure the event’s success.

President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Nasir Qureshi, praised the initiative and expressed full support, calling it a landmark opportunity for Pakistan’s business community. The planning session was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and senior CDA officials.

The expo is expected to attract considerable attention both locally and internationally, providing a vital platform for Pakistani businesses to expand their global footprint and strengthen economic ties with key markets.
