Islamabad to Get State-of-the-Art Expo Centre

ISLAMABAD: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of a state-of-the-art Expo Centre in the Federal Capital has been inked by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Intelligence Bureau Employees Cooperative Housing Society (IBECHS).

The MoU was signed by Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the ICCI, and Shujaat Ullah Qureshi, Secretary of the IBECHS in a ceremony held here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, IBECHS President Tariq Mehmood said that they would be fulfilling a significant national obligation by creating an Expo Center in the Federal Capital.

He claimed that the Expo Center was the foundation of the economy and that a joint venture between the ICCI and the IBECHS for this significant project would significantly boost the economy.

He said that the project would turn the area into a focus for business activities would boost exports, and revive the economy.

Expo Centre to Highlight Pakistan’s Exportable Goods

The joint venture between ICCI and IBECHS, according to ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, is a positive step for the economy because the Expo Center will highlight Pakistan’s exportable goods and increase exports.

He stated that staging expos had helped China and Turkey expand their exports and tourism, and he believed that this expo centre would similarly help Pakistan improve its exports and tourism.

While Shujaat Ullah Qureshi in his address, said that due to the prime location, the expo center will create a lot of new opportunities for promoting trade, investment, and business.

Senior Vice President ICCI Faad Waheed said that the Chamber would collaborate with IBECHS for the materialization of this important project.

Khalid Iqbal Malik, Group Leader ICCI, said that Pakistan has a great deal of potential to increase exports and expressed the hope that the expo centre would help it happen.
