ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has launched a dedicated Complaint Redressal Cell to assist overseas Pakistanis facing illegal occupation or land-grabbing issues, providing 24/7 digital access and direct support to safeguard citizens’ property rights in Pakistan’s federal capital.
The initiative was launched on the direct orders of the Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, aiming to address long-standing grievances and restore confidence among the diaspora.
The district administration has swiftly implemented the directives to create a direct and efficient channel for resolving property disputes.
24/7 digital access for complaints
To ensure maximum accessibility, overseas Pakistanis can now register complaints without physically visiting Pakistan. The administration has provided two primary digital channels:
A dedicated WhatsApp number is available 24/7, where complainants can send details, documents, and contact information at any time.
An official email address for the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad for submitting formal complaints.
Special desk at DC office for direct support
For those currently in Islamabad or with family members who can visit on their behalf, a special desk has been established at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
This desk will facilitate the submission of applications, verify information, and coordinate with relevant departments, including revenue and police, to ensure prompt action.
Zero-tolerance policy against land grabbers
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, speaking to WE News English, emphasised a strict, no-nonsense approach.
“Complaints received from overseas Pakistanis will be acted upon immediately,” Memon stated.
He affirmed that no delay would be tolerated once a complaint is registered and verified.
He further declared a city-wide crackdown, stating, “Operations against land grabbers will be carried out across Islamabad without discrimination. Action will be taken wherever illegal occupation is found, regardless of influence or location.”
The objective is to dismantle the qabza mafia and safeguard property investments.
Systematic monitoring and follow-up
Officials confirmed that all complaints will be systematically documented and monitored to ensure diligent follow-up.
Complainants will receive regular progress updates via the contact details they provide.
The administration has urged overseas citizens to share complete and accurate information to enable swift and effective action.
