Islamabad, Dhaka Discuss Matters to Revitalize SAARC

APIA:  Bangladesh and Pakistan have agreed to advance high level talks and cooperation, especially in the sectors of trade, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.

This agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Md. Touhid Hossain, on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.  This was the first interaction between the two dignitaries, after their assumption of office.

Ishaq Dar has highlighted the religious, historical, and cultural linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh.  They agreed to strengthen cooperation at different multilateral fora.

The two sides also discussed revitalization of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
