ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar has ordered PTI chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan to appear before his court on May 10 for indictment in the Toshakhana case, local media reported on Friday.
Islamabad Court
Imran Khan is accused of taking gifts from the Toshakhana illegally. The court rejected Imran Khan’s plea to dismiss the case and ordered him to ensure his presence in the court.
During the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer argued on two petitions stating that the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) petition was “non-maintainable” and that the court did not have the jurisdiction to hear the matter.
However, the judge of the court rejected both appeals and summoned Imran Khan in person to appear before the court for the indictment on May 10. Although Imran Khan had previously made an appearance at Islamabad judicial complex, he was allowed to mark his attendance in his car.
As per media reports, the gifts included watches given by royals, which Imran Khan allegedly sold in Dubai, UAE.
