ISLAMABAD: A lower court here on Friday converted Imran Khan’s non-bailable arrest warrants into bailable warrants in a woman judge threatening case.

Additional Session Judge Sikandar Khan heard the case against the judicial magistrate’s decision to deny bail to the PTI chief. At the start of the hearing, special prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi stated that Imran Khan was aware of every hearing date but chose to avoid appearing. According to the prosecutor, decisions were made on the appearance of an accused if arrest warrants were issued against an ordinary citizen.

Skipping court appearances

He claimed that the former prime minister wanted to continue skipping his appearances and that the courts would not issue arrest warrants for him. Imran’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry Advocate, stated that his client had appeared in court before the attack. He claimed that the PTI chairman was under threat of death.

After hearing arguments, the court made Imran Khan’s arrest warrants bailable and ordered him to post surety bonds of Rs 20,000.
