ISLAMABAD: A district and session court of Islamabad on Monday awarded death penalty to a man who was accused of murdering his wife – mother of two children – on November 19, 2022 in the suburbs of Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.
According to details, District and Session Court Judge Atta Rabbani announced a 15-page verdict and awarded death penalty to Nasir Hussain, husband of the deceased woman. Public prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas successfully prosecuted the case. The two children’s testimony played an important role in the case proceedings.
Nasir Hussain had married Farzana Bibi eighteen years ago and was living with his family comprised of children in a rented house in Sehala. They had five children including three sons and two daughters and he used to drive a loader while his wife worked in homes.
According to the verdict on 19th of November 2020, the criminal killed his wife by slitting her throat in front of two children. The verdict further added that Nasir Hussain was addicted to drugs, and used to torture his wife, about which the victim told the relatives several times.
Father killed mother say sons in Court
According to the plaintiff, he received a call on 19 November 2020 at 8 am that the victim Farzana was killed. When he reached the polyclinic hospital, two sons of the victim, Hasnain and Muhammad Aqib, were present in the hospital. The sons told the court in a statement that the father killed the mother in front of them.
Amid the proceedings lawyer of the accused told the court that there was no evidence against him and, the recoveries being made from the spot were fake. However, the prosecutor told the court that there was enough evidence against the accused for being proven guilty.
Earlier a case was registered against the accused at Sehala police station. It is worth mentioning here that different human rights organizations raise their voices against the death penalty.
