ISLAMABAD: Dengue mosquito continues to take a toll on the residents of Islamabad as 50 more cases of vector-borne disease surfaced during the last 24 hours.
According to data issued by the Islamabad District House Officer (DHO) office, with the new 50 dengue virus cases, 31 were reported in rural areas and 19 in urban areas of the federal capital.
The DHO office said that so far this season, a total of 3,864 dengue virus cases have been reported.
The DHO office said that the total number of dengue cases in rural areas has reached 2,255 and 1,609 in urban areas.
The DHO office said that 18 dengue virus patients were currently under treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and 22 people in the city’s private hospitals and laboratories.
“Our dengue surveillance teams are putting out there all efforts in ensuring that no one in Islamabad remains vulnerable to dengue virus. We all should follow SOPs to keep ourselves safe from dengue,” the DHO office said in a tweet
