WASHINGTON: A video of a man taunting Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar and his entourage has gone viral on social media in which a man can be heard criticizing the state of affairs in Pakistan due to the ‘incumbent government’.
As the man hurled insults on Dar, a person accompanying the latter asked the heckler to stop with his gestures. Finance Minister who arrived in Washington on Thursday, is expected to attend the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF. During his visit to the US, the minister will also have meetings with the leaders of several financial organizations and nations.
Uncertainty surrounds the political leanings of the enraged heckler, but since the removal of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in April, PML-N and PTI supporters have been at odds. Both party followers have gotten into fights abroad, especially in London, where PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif is currently residing. Recently Junaid Safdar, the son of PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, was stopped in London by the PTI activists.
