Baghdad: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said on Wednesday that the recent US escalation was unsafe and confirmed that it also violated the sovereignty of Iraq.
He made the remarks during his talks with the US envoy to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
The Iraqi FM conveyed Baghdad’s disapproval of the recent US attacks against different sites without his government’s knowledge.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Iraqi government, Basem Al-Awadi, said that the government of Iraq considers the recent escalation a very dangerous measure involving an unacceptable violation of the country’s sovereignty.
As many as five people were killed in the early hours of Wednesday following several sites were targeted by US air strikes.

Similarly, the US officials said that the US Central Command forces also conducted a separate and precise attacks on two sites in Iraq. The US Army claimed that the airstrikes were a direct reply to attacks on US and coalition troops.
Earlier, the Pentagon stated that the US forces deployed in Syria and Iraq have been attacked around 55 times during the past month, causing minor injuries to several of US personnel. The United States has alleged the spike in the current wave of violence on a militant group and carried out attacks on sites in Syria.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that since October 17 till today, they were tracking that there have been about 55 attacks on US troops. There have been around 27 assaults against US troops in Iraq and about 28 attacks in Syria,” Sabrina Singh added. According to Sabrina Singh as many as 59 US personnel were injured in these attacks.
