BEIRUT: Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday meet with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon.

The meeting comes amid heightened tensions and cross-border exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel, particularly along the Lebanon-Israel border. During the meeting, they discussed recent developments in Palestine, Lebanon, and the broader region, including efforts to address the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Following the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian, who previously expressed concerns about the conflict escalating, departed for Doha, reported Iran’s Nour news agency.

In response to the relentless airstrikes of the Israeli forces on Gaza Strip since October 7, Hezbollah on Thursday morning said that it launched 48 Katyusha rockets at an Israeli military base near Safed, causing casualties. Hezbollah claimed that it also fired 10 other attacks on Israeli position near the frontier.

More than 14,000 innocent Palestinians civilians mostly children and women have been martyred in the brutal attacks of the Israel on Gaza Strip.

In Lebanon, at least 108 including three journalists have been killed in the Israel airstrikes. On the Israeli side, six soldiers and three civilians have been reported killed.
