Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Pakistan on Two-day Visit

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Pakistan on his first visit on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and the emerging regional situation with the leadership of Pakistan.

Foreign Minister Abdollahian will hold meetings with his Pakistani counterpart Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Thursday.

Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release that the wide-ranging agenda of Abdollahian’s two-day visit includes discussion on the entire gambit of bilateral ties and the emerging situation in the region.

Iranian Foreign Minister to Meet PM Shehbaz Sharif

Abdollahian will call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for an exchange of views on the consensus between the leadership of the two nations for taking this relationship forward.

He will also call on the chairman Senate and speaker National Assembly where the two sides would discuss parliamentary linkages between the two brotherly nations.

Earlier, a top-ranking delegation comprising the deputy foreign minister for economic affairs and key officials from the ministries of trade, roads and urban development, agriculture, energy, investment, etc, preceded the foreign minister Abdollahian for preparatory meetings, the spokesperson said.

FO said that Abdollahian’s trip would be an opportunity for the two sides to discuss the entire range of bilateral relations with a special focus on energy, regional connectivity, and economic and investment relations between Pakistan and Iran.
