TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Monday warned Israel of “dangerous consequences” following deadly strikes on Hezbollah sites in Lebanon that killed at least 182 persons and wounded more than 700 others.

Nasser Kanani, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry termed the Israeli strikes “insane”, and warned of “the dangerous consequences of the Zionists’ new adventure”.

According to Lebanon’s health ministry, the airstrikes have killed at least 182 people, including children, and left more than 700 others injured.

Kanani stated that Israel’s actions in both Palestinian territories and Lebanon exemplify a blatant disregard for international peace and security. He criticized US support for Israel, calling for the United Nations Security Council to take “immediate action” to halt Israeli “crimes.”

“The crimes committed by the Zionists in Palestinian territories, along with their expansion into Lebanon, are clear examples of a serious threat to regional and international peace,” Kanani said.
