ISTANBUL: The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian is scheduled to visit Turkiye on Wednesday. During his visit, Abdollahian will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the situation in Palestine, current regional developments, and bilateral relations.
This development comes at a time when the Israeli military has escalated its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since October 7.

According to the Palestine Health Ministry, over 8,525 Palestinians, mainly women and children, have lost their lives in these attacks. According to UNICEF’s latest report, a Palestinian child is being killed every ten minutes in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a cease-fire. The blockade imposed by Israel on the strip has further exacerbated the situation, leading to shortages in fuel, electricity, and water supplies and a reduced capacity to meet the needs of the over 2 million Palestinians residing there.
