TEHRAN: Iran has decided to seal the border with Afghanistan after the incidents of terrorism. Since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan in 2021, there has been a surge in terrorist activities in the region, especially in the neighbouring states.
According to Iranian media reports many terrorist organizations under the influence of the Taliban, such as the TTP and the Islamic State of Khorasan, have safe havens in Afghanistan.
There has been a substantial increase in terrorist activities in Iran and other neighbours of Afghanistan by terrorist organizations. Iran fed up with the growing threat of terrorism, has started implementing a plan to construct a 300-kilometer-long and 4-meter-high wall on the Afghan border.
Earlier, Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani said that the activation of terrorist groups in Afghanistan is a great threat to the entire region. He said terrorists entered Iran from Afghanistan in the Kerman bombing, due to which Iran’s security has been severely damaged.
