TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held a series of high-level telephone conversations with his counterparts in Pakistan, Türkiye, and Egypt, as Tehran stepped up diplomatic outreach amid escalating regional tensions.

The discussions focused on recent military actions by the United States and Israel on Iran, with Araghchi warning that such developments risk further destabilising the region and beyond, according to Iranian state media.

During the calls, the Iranian foreign minister emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and closer coordination among regional countries in response to what Tehran described as attempts to escalate conflict.

He underscored that continued attacks on Iran’s infrastructure could have far-reaching consequences for regional security and global stability.

The diplomatic engagements come against the backdrop of an intensifying confrontation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has already seen strikes on key energy infrastructure and retaliatory actions affecting parts of the Gulf.

The situation has raised alarm over potential disruptions to global energy supplies and increased risks of a wider regional conflict.

Analysts say such outreach reflects Tehran’s effort to consolidate diplomatic support while signalling readiness to respond to further escalation.

The latest round of calls highlights growing concerns among regional stakeholders over the trajectory of the conflict, with many countries urging restraint, dialogue, and diplomatic solutions to prevent further deterioration of security in the Middle East.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, said the Kingdom “reserves the right” to take military action against Iran if attacks on its territory continue, warning that Riyadh will not hesitate to defend its sovereignty and economic interests.

“The kingdom is not going to succumb to pressure, and on the contrary, this pressure will backfire… and certainly, as we have stated quite clearly, we have reserved the right to take military actions if deemed necessary,” he said.

He urged Iran to “review its misjudgments” and immediately halt attacks on Gulf states, warning that continued escalation “will not bring any gains.”
