KUWAIT CITY: Iran’s neighbours have pledged not to allow their “soil or airspace” to be used for any attacks against the Islamic Republic, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday amid Israel’s considerations for retaliation following Iran’s missile strike.

“All our neighbours have assured us that they won’t allow their soil or airspace to be used against Iran,” Araghchi stated during a press conference in Kuwait, referencing Iran’s missile attack on Israel on October 1.

Prior to his visit to Kuwait, Araghchi traveled to Bahrain as part of a regional tour.

“We are closely monitoring the movements of American bases in the region and are aware of all their activities and flights,” he added. “If Israel attacks Iran in any form, Iran will respond in kind.”

The United States, a key ally of Israel, maintains military resources throughout the region, including in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Araghchi also reiterated Iran’s warnings to Israel regarding potential attacks on its nuclear facilities. “Attacking nuclear sites is a significant international crime; even threatening such attacks is a crime and a violation of international law,” he asserted.

“We have our own means and methods to defend ourselves and our nuclear sites, and we rely on them.”
