Israel warns of more attacks on Iran
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed Israel’s strikes had pushed back Iran’s nuclear programme possibly by years, but rejected international calls for restraint, saying the attack would be intensified.
“We will hit every site and every target in Iran and what they have felt so far is nothing compared with what they will be handed in the coming days,” he said in a video message.
“Dozens of missiles”
According to AFP, air raid sirens and explosions rang out across Israel overnight, with its military calling on residents to take refuge in bomb shelters Saturday morning.
The Israeli military said dozens of missiles — some intercepted — had been fired in the latest salvos from Iran.
Smoke was billowing above skyscrapers in downtown Tel Aviv, an AFP journalist reported, as Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said it had attacked dozens of targets in Israel.
Israel’s firefighting service said its teams were responding to the aftermath of Iranian missile strikes, including working to rescue people trapped in a high-rise building.
Iran Claims to Shoot Down Israeli Drone in Tabriz
Meanwhile, Iran has announced the shooting down of an Israeli drone near Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, East Azerbaijan province.
Amid the strikes of the Zionist regime on Iran, an Israeli drone was detected and shot down in the vicinity of Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, the head of the crisis management department for Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, Majid Farshi, said on Saturday.
34 wounded
Rescuers said 34 people had been wounded in the Gush Dan area, including a woman who later died of her injuries, according to Israeli media reports.
Resident Chen Gabizon told AFP he ran to an underground shelter after receiving an alert notification.
“After a few minutes, we just heard a very big explosion, everything was shaking, smoke, dust, everything was all over the place,” he said.
