TEHRAN: Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to the country’s supreme leader, stated that Iran is getting ready to “respond” to Israel.
Reuters report that the advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated on Sunday in an interview with Iran’s Tasnim news agency on Sunday, that Iranian authorities are getting ready to retaliate against Israel for its October 26 strike on the Islamic Republic’s military installations.
A few weeks after Iran launched a volley of over 200 ballistic missiles into Israel, Israeli fighter jets launched three waves of attacks on Iranian military facilities on October 26. Iran has already promised to retaliate against Isarel’s strikes.
“Military officials are planning various strategies to respond to Israel,” Ali Larijani said in an interview with the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News.
The airstrikes, which left Iran vulnerable and took out its final three S-300 air defense missile systems supplied by Russia, have prompted Iran to vow retaliation against Israel, according to Israeli and US sources.
Larijani’s comments followed the discovery of an Israeli rabbi’s body in the United Arab Emirates after he was kidnapped.
Larijani charged that Israel’s Middle East activities, particularly its operations against Iran, were planned by the US.

“Israel was counting on the United States’ support when planning its operation against Iran, with many US resources and aircraft operating in the region to assist them,” he said.
“It can be said with certainty that the Americans are orchestrating events here. But why are they doing this? Because they prefer to engage in a “shadow war,” staying out of sight while pushing others into the forefront,” the senior advisor to Khamenei said.
In order to avoid what he saw as the damaging of the US image in the area, he also urged the incoming Donald Trump government to stop its support for Israel.
The Financial Times report last week that Trump’s new government intends to resurrect its “maximum pressure” approach towards Iran’s ability to continue nuclear development.
According to the FT article, which cited anonymous sources, Trump’s team is drafting executive orders for his first day in office that will strengthen current sanctions and impose new ones on Iran’s oil exports.
