ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam has announced that November 9th has been declared as the “Allama Iqbal Day” in the Iranian Solar Calendar.
In his message on the 148th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s national poet, he said Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a great poet-philosopher who is known widely for both the spirit of Islam and the fragrance of Persian literature.
He paid rich tribute to Allama Iqbal’s deep love for Persian literature and his mastery of the Persian language, which he said created a lasting intellectual bridge between Iran and Pakistan.
He noted that Allama Iqbal’s message of unity and faith continues to transcend borders, inspiring nations to uphold dignity and moral strength.
Iqbal’s vision of justice, knowledge, and spiritual awakening, he added, remains a timeless source of guidance for humanity.

Reza Amiri Moghadam stated that Iran regards Iqbal not only as Pakistan’s visionary thinker but also as a shared cultural and spiritual figure who belongs to the entire Muslim world.
The Iranian ambassador said that on this day, they honor Iqbal’s enduring legacy as a symbol of wisdom, brotherhood, and the everlasting bond between the two brotherly nations.
He said that as the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, it was his honour to announce that November 9th has been declared as the “Allama Iqbal Day” in the Iranian Solar Calendar.
It is pertinent to mention that the President of Iran, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, during his visit to Pakistan in August this year, visited the mausoleum of Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore to pay tribute to his legacy.
The Iranian president also penned heartfelt remarks in the visitors’ book, expressing admiration for Allama Iqbal’s visionary contributions to Islamic philosophy and the Pakistan Movement.
