PESHAWAR: President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fazal Moqeem Khan emphasized the need to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Iran.
He was talking to Ali Banafshekhah, the Iranian Consul General in Peshawar, at the SCCI.
The meeting included SCCI Vice President Shehryar Khan and executive committee members Aftab Iqbal, Muhammad Ashfaq, Nadeem Rauf, Secretary General Muqtasid Ahsan, Secretary Sohail Anjum, and others. Banafshekhah, accompanied by Commercial Attaché Hossein Mailki, expressed Iran’s eagerness to improve trade relations with Pakistan and other neighboring countries.
He said that the current bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Iran is low and emphasized the need to efficiently tap into the potential of both nations. Banafshekhah assured that Iran is prepared to extend all necessary cooperation to bolster mutual trade.
The discussion focused on enhancing trade prospects, exchanging business delegations, organizing joint trade exhibitions, and addressing existing trade barriers.
SCCI President Fazal Moqeem assured full cooperation in strengthening Pak-Iran trade. He highlighted the importance of resolving issues through dialogue to foster business relations between the two Islamic nations, reiterating that SCCI will continue to play a proactive role in promoting Pak-Iran ties.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain joint efforts and regular discussions to improve mutual trade between the two countries.
