ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Jalil Abbas Jilani to congratulate him on the successful conduct of parliamentary elections in the country, a foreign ministry statement said on Friday.
According to the statement the Iranian Foreign Minister, conveyed the well wishes to Foreign Minister Jillani on behalf of the leadership and people of Iran.
FM Jilani welcomed the warm wishes from the brotherly people of Iran.
The two Foreign Ministers, reflecting on close fraternal ties between the governments as well as peoples of Pakistan and Iran, reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
Since the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Pakistan earlier this month, the two neighboring countries have fully resumed official engagements.
