TEHRAN, Iran: Iran has condemned new sanctions imposed by the European Union and the UK, targeting Iranian individuals and entities accused of transferring ballistic missiles to Russia.

The sanctions, which include asset freezes and travel bans, affect seven individuals and organizations such as Iran Air and the Deputy Defence Minister Seyed Hamzeh Ghalandari.

In response, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, denied supplying ballistic missiles to Russia, refuting claims made by European nations and the UK regarding Iran’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Baghaei called the sanctions a violation of international law and expressed Tehran’s disapproval of the baseless accusations. The measures are part of a broader effort by the West to curb Iran’s military influence and activities amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Other sanctioned entities include Saha Airlines, Mahan Air, and top officials from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. These sanctions follow similar actions by the U.S., further escalating tensions between Iran and the West.
