ISLAMABAD: Iran claimed it destroyed strategic targets in Israel overnight using drones, as intense strikes between the arch-foes continued for a fifth day on Tuesday, according to AFP.

“Various types of destructive drones, equipped with precision targeting and destruction capabilities, destroyed strategic positions of the Zionist regime in Tel Aviv and Haifa,” General Kiyomars Heidari, commander of the army’s ground forces, was quoted as saying by state television.

Iranian outlet Defa Press reported Brigadier General Heidari as stating: “Immediately after the brutal aggression of the usurping Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Army Ground Forces drone unit, in coordination with a barrage of ballistic missiles launched by the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, deployed dozens of various types of destructive drone systems—equipped with anti-fortification warheads—toward positions and sensitive areas in the cities of the occupied territory, which successfully hit their intended targets.”

According to Defa Press, the Commander of the Army Ground Forces added: “The personnel of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army will defend the revolution and the territorial integrity of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran with all their might and until the last drop of their blood.”
