Islamabad: Iranian military begins military exercises in the geo-strategic region of the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA on Thursday.

Military exercises and armed forces

In these military exercises, joint military drills will involve the Iranian Airforce, Iranian Army, and Iranian Navy, which will also include drones and submarines as well as important Iranian military hardware.

Location of military exercises

Deputy coordinator of the Iranian armed forces, Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, told IRNA state news that the Iranian military drills begin at the southeastern Jask port located in the east of the Strait of Hormuz.

Military exercises at the Strait of Hormuz

The Strait of Hormuz is the strategic point and trade transit for Iran, through which a fifth of world oil and energy resources are transited.

These Iranian military exercises will use armored, infantry, and mechanized land forces, air defense systems, and subsurface and surface naval vessels.

Military exercises and US

During similar kinds of Iranian military drills held last year, Iranian forces warned off two US drones that were flowing over the Strait of Hormuz waters where the drills were being held.
