TEHRAN: During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the GECF Summit in Algeria, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji and Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov reached significant agreements to enhance cooperation in the energy sector. The discussions centered on the development of oil and gas fields, the establishment of a gas hub in the Eurasian region within the SCO framework, and the progression of existing contracts.
Both parties expressed mutual interest in signing new contracts to bolster oil and gas exploration and production efforts. The envisioned collaborations aim to leverage the rich energy resources of both nations for mutual benefit and regional stability.
In addition to exploring opportunities in the energy sector, Owji and Shulginov deliberated on the progress of agreements related to the interconnection of power grids between Iran and Russia.
